Family Sponsorship

 

 

Australian Family sponsorship program is an immigration program, where a point based assessment test is conducted to ascertain whether a candidate is eligible or not to migrate to Australia. Skills, work experience and qualification of a candidate are examined closely before allowing a candidate to migrate to Australia under this immigration program. 

 

Under this sponsorship program, candidates have to be sponsored by their family members who are residing in Australia on a permanent basis. 

 

Currently candidates have to secure at least 100 points in the assessment test if they aspire to migrate to Australia under this sponsorship program. However, Department of Immigration, Multicultural, and Indigenous Affairs (DIMIA) reserve the sole authority to change this requirement if they think so. 

 

After the completion of the two-year stay in Australia, candidates will be eligible to apply for Australian citizenship. However, there are certain criteria that have to be met by a candidate before applying for Australian citizenship.

Eligibility Criteria

 

A) Age - Maximum age limit is 45 years of age.

 

B) Skills and Qualifications - Each applicant has to meet the below mentioned criteria pertained to qualifications and skills:

 

C) Candidate should nominate an occupation that should be enlisted in the most recent version of the Skilled Occupations List. 

 

D) Applicants should prove themselves suitable for the applied positions. Their profiles should meet the educational and work experience requirements otherwise; their applicants may be rejected.

 

E) Candidates should have worked at least 20 hours per week in a recognized organization. However, it has to be ensured that his/her position is listed in Skilled Occupations List.

 

An applicant has to meet these below mentioned requirements if he/she wants to migrate to Australia under this visa program:

 

- Age of the candidate should be 18 years or above. 

- Candidates should be related to a sponsor as a parent, niece, nephew, sister, brother or a non-dependent child. 

- Person who will nominate a candidate has to be an Australian citizen or a permanent residence of Australia. However, in certain cases, New Zealand citizens can nominate a candidate. 

 

The health and character requirements of Australian Sponsorship program are extremely strict in nature. Each candidate has to satisfy these requirements if they want to migrate to Australia for a period of 12 months. Here are the requirements that one has to satisfy at any cost:

 

- Candidates have to undergo a complete medical check-up along with chest x-ray. The entire check-up has to be conducted by a team of medical practitioners, who will be chosen by the Australian authorities. 

- Candidates have to submit police certifications of different countries, where they have lived for more than 12 months. 

 

Processing time of Australian Family Sponsor visa can vary depending on diverse factors. Usually it does not take more than 15 months, but there can be some exceptions.
