The country of Australia is divided into various regions and each zone has their independent authority to nominate or sponsor any immigrant whom they feel would be of great economical boosting to the region. There are various regions in the country, which are mentioned below. 
 
Australian Capital Territory
The Australian Capital Territory is located in the southeastern region of New South Wales. Australia's capital city of Canberra sits within this territory, and is approximately four hours away from Sydney by train.
 
New South Wales
New South Wales was named by Captain James Cook when he first stepped ashore in Australia. The focal point of New South Wales is Australia's oldest and most vibrant major city, Sydney. Its iconic status means it is a target for much of the Australian immigration.
 
Northern Territory 
The territory is renowned for its clean environment, friendly communities and its strong and growing economic base.
 
Western Australia
This is the largest state in Australia with a rich cultural heritage providing a sense of space and freedom. Perth, the capital of Western Australia, is a lively and modern city with a stunning location on the Canning and Swan rivers.
 
South Australia
South Australia is the forth-largest State in Australia. The capital city of South Australia is Adelaide, an elegant city that has preserved its heritage and links with the past and offers a wealth of experiences that are readily accessible from the city.
 
Queensland
Queensland, situated in the northeast corner of Australia, is Australia's holiday playground and it is known as the 'sunshine state'.  Brisbane, the capital city of Queensland, is a modern, sophisticated city with a focus on the arts, education, commerce and government.
 
Tasmania
Tasmania, originally known as Van Diemen's Land, is the smallest state in Australia. The traditional Australians are found in this part of the country. 
 
Victoria
Victoria is known as the economic hub of the country and Melbourne the capital city of Victoria, has been called the world's most liveable city. The Victorian economy alone is larger than that of Singapore and Ireland and constitutes 25% of the national economy.
