A foreign resident can apply for an Ireland Business Visa to immigrate to this country for carrying out business activities. This visa remains valid for a period of 90 days. A foreign resident can stay in this country for business-orientated purposes but he or she is not allowed to undertake employment. The processing time for Ireland Business Visa is dependent on the nationality of the applicant.
Benefits
In Ireland, business visas do not constitute work authorisation, and unlike applying for an Irish work permit or an Irish Green Card, both of which are designed for living and working in Ireland, business visa applications do not permit successful applicants to commence working in Ireland.
An Ireland Business Visa holder can carry out business related activities in the country and he or she is free to attend business meetings, conferences and can engage in business negotiations.
Eligibility
Like Irish tourist visas, visiting Ireland on a Business Permit requires the applicants to fulfil the criteria listed below:
- Applicants must provide a current passport from their country of residence. The passport must be valid for a minimum of six months beyond the proposed date of departure from Ireland.
- Applicants must be able to demonstrate their intention to return to their country of residence. This can usually be satisfied through proof of employment, bank accounts, or evidence of family commitments.
- A letter of invitation must be provided. This must come from the relevant Irish company and must give details of the purpose, proposed activities, and duration of the stay.
- A letter must also be provided from the applicant's current employer. This must confirm that the trip is being undertaken on behalf of the company and that the candidate will return to their usual employment beyond the duration of the visit.
- Applicants must also provide evidence of where they will be staying during their time in Ireland.
- Confirmation must be provided of who will take responsibility for expenses during the stay.
Spouse Immigration and Dependant Immigration
This short term immigration service does not allow immigration of spouse and dependant family members to Ireland. If anybody wishes to visit Ireland with his/her spouse or family member then he/she has to apply for separate visas.
