Employment visas

 
To migrate to Ireland in order to take up employment, a foreign national is required to apply for an employment visa. After residing in Ireland for some specified years with an Ireland employment visa, one can apply for permanent residency in this country. 
 
Ireland Work Permit
With a Work Permit in Ireland, one can move to this country for a temporary period to take up employment in a specific position under a specific employer. Residents from Non-European Economic Area can also apply for the Ireland Work Permit. The applications for Work Permit in Ireland are assessed under the Labor Market Needs Test. 
 
Ireland Green Card
With an Ireland Green Card, a person from outside Ireland and from non European Economic Area (EEA) can immigrate here to take up employment. An applicant for a Green Card in Ireland should secure a specified job offer. After being in Ireland for 2 years with an Ireland Green Card, one can apply for permanent residency in this country. 
 
Irish Intra Company Transfer
With an Irish Intra Company Transfer, a foreign national can move to Ireland and take up a specific job offer in a specified Ireland based company. With this permit, an employer can transfer an employee to Ireland from an overseas branch on a specific purpose. This permit is issued to an applicant on a temporary basis. 
 
Ireland Business Visa
An Ireland Business Visa allows its holder to stay in Ireland for a short period of 90 days. With this visa a foreign resident can immigrate to Ireland for business purposes. But unlike many of the employment visas in Ireland, a Business Visa does not allow its applicant to undertake any job with an Ireland based company. 
 
Irish Working Holiday Visa
Irish Working Holiday Visa remains valid for 12 months. This visa allows foreign nationals to immigrate to Ireland for travel purposes. During their stay in this country, they are allowed to undertake employment to supplement their holiday expenses. An Irish Working Holiday Visa holder is restricted to work for more than 39 hours per week and he or she can not work with an employer for more than 3 months.
