The Australian Immigration Raids Resulted To the Arrests of Eleven Illegal Immigrants

The fresh attempt of the Australian immigration authorities to locate the illegal workers has produced fruitful results. At least 11 immigrants working as plasterers in Adelaide were detained following a crackdown. The raids were conducted throughout the Northeastern region of Adelaide. The Immigration and Citizenship officials jointly conducted this operation. This investigation focused on finding out the illegal workers.
Most of the detained illegal immigrants were of Chinese origin. Most of these illegal immigrants were arrested from the construction industry including some other high profile jobs. Following the scenario of excessive infiltration of immigrants, the Australian immigration authorities have become stricter with their policies about the detention of the illegal immigrant workers in Australia.
 
Raids across Adelaide’s Northeastern region resulted in eleven arrests during the weekend as confirmed by the Australian immigration department. These illegal workers in Adelaide, Australia will now be slapped with hefty accusations. Moreover, they will be sent back to China. In this case the maximum amount of fine, that their employers will pay is AUS$66,000. The employer will have to pay this amount for each of the workers.
 
According to a spokesperson of the Australian immigration department, the enquiries have finally led them to the leaders of the gangs that took the responsibility of arranging for employment of these illegal workers. The spokesperson further emphasized that out of the 11 detainees, eight are marked as illegal immigrants. On the other hand, the remaining three were detained as it was suspected that they have violated the conditions of the Australian visa.
 
The detentions revealed three Chinese nationals who were illegally living and working in Adelaide. These illegal workers serve as the plasterers in the construction sector of Adelaide. The employers had to pay quite a heavy amount for hiring the illegal immigrants to work for them.
