Intra Company transfers also known as It's allow multi national companies to transfer oversea employees to fill a particular position which they may have been unable to fill with employees within the UK workforce, this could be for a variety of reasons.
To be eligible for this type of visa process, the applicant must have been working for the company in an overseas branch for a minimum of six months. They must also prove that they have relevant experience or qualifications for the position in question.

Benefits
The main aspect of the visa which would be considered a benefit, would be the fact that the employer does not need to show evidence that the position has been advertised before applying for the Intra-Company transfer. Also unlike the Tier 1 visa option, the applicant does not have to meet a minimum points based requirement.
 
Duration
An Intra Company Transfer application can be valid for a minimum of one day to up to five years, this would be dependent on the length of time requested by the sponsoring company and ultimately down to the discretion of the particular country's government.
 
Eligibility Criteria
Employer Requirements - Position
To be eligible for the ICT visa service, the position the employer is looking to fill has to meet the minimum requirement of NVQ level 3 or above. An applicants education requirements must fulfil one of the following:
 
  • A relevant degree.
  • A non-relevant degree and 1 year of experience.
  • An HND level qualification, which is relevant to the offered position.
  • An HND level qualification, which is not relevant to the post on offer plus 1 year of relevant full time work experience at NVQ level 3 and above.
 
No degree and three years of relevant experience.
 
Employee history within the organisation
The applicant for whom the ICT is being sought must have been working for the company in an overseas branch for a minimum of six months. They must also prove that they have relevant experience or qualifications for the position in question.
 
Spouse Immigration
A candidates spouse/unmarried partner would be eligible to join them on a dependency visa, but it is important to note that the dependent must cohabit with the Intra Company Transfer visa holder. In regards to an unmarried partner, evidence will need to be provided to prove that they have been living together continuously for a minimum of two years prior to making an application for Intra Company Transfer.
 
Tier 2 Visas
Tier 2 visas are a direct replacement for the previous immigration system which was the Work permit.
 
The Tier 2 Visa is designed for medium and highly skilled individuals who are planning to immigrate to the UK and work within a British company.
