E2 visa holders are allowed to live and work indefinitely as this visa may be extended by 2 years as many times as is necessary providing the applicant continues to meet the original criteria.
Eligibility Requirements
E2 visa applicants must enter the United States with the intention "solely to develop and direct the operations of an enterprise" in an executive or equivalent role. The applicant must be from a nation that has a treaty with the United States. The applicant must also provide proof of a substantial investment in the United States and that he or she is committed to their investment policy.
Dependent and Spouse Immigration
Spouse and dependent children of E2 visa holders are allowed to enter the USA as per the US E2 visa rules. A derivative 'E' visa issued to them gives them the right to stay in America along with Principal applicant. However, they are not allowed to seek employment.
