The Student Work and Travel Program, or SWTP visa is specially designed as a youth exchange scheme exclusively for New Zealand and Australian post-secondary and recently passed out graduates.
Benefits
Under this particular program, this visa is valid for 12 months allowing participants to remain in the countries for the entire time. Students can enter in United States at any time of the year.
Eligibility
To be eligible for the Student Work and Travel program, one must meet the below given criteria:
Be a citizen of Australia and New Zealand
As this is a specific based program. Therefore, an applicant must be a citizen of Australia and New Zealand.
Completed the first year at college/university
The students under this program must complete the first year at college/university.
Graduated from college/university within the previous 12 months
Applicants willing to enter in United States under this program must be recently graduated.
Provide proof of sufficient funds before coming to the US, for support
The applicants must provide proof about their sufficient funding status, which may require to them during crisis time in United States.
Not be accompanied by dependents
As this program comes under a youth exchange scheme. Therefore, successful applicants entering to US are not allowed to accompany by their dependents.
