The ones applying for UK visas will be paying more as the aspect of charging higher fees is already applicable from November 22, 2010. This price hike is applicable in apparently more than 40 varied visas all over UK. This is definitely a bad news for the huge number of students applying for a visa in UK
In September, the UK Border Agency announced the hike in the fee structure in response to the reductions in public spending by the government leading to curtailing of the budget. This budgetary pressure has emerged as a major drawback for the immigrants applying for a visa in UK.
The price rise in few of the categories of UK visa will take place by as much as £150, at the same time; some other categories have experienced almost more than double the hike in price.
Since October 1, the next session of hikes in the fees took place and the changes happened in a similar manner as some of the fees hikes occurred by almost 30%. According to a statement from the UKBA, the agency came up with this plan to balance the budgetary pressures as the amount spent for public expenses have been reduced. This hike in the visa fees will help to subdue the budget pressures.
The visa fees would, literally, double or even triple in some programs. The fees for the immigration visa would increase for the Tier 1 and Tier 2. This might put off some of the applicants in the skilled migration category.
The chances are that this new development will have a negative impact on the economy of UK. In fact, if skilled migration comes to a halt, it will have severe drawbacks. This hike in visa fee would also affect the tourism industry adversely.
Curtailing of jobs and funds for the immigration industry of UK led to a strike in October by few of the UKBA employees.
